Following tradition, Sri Lankaramaya organized several programs at the end of 2025 and on the first day of 2026, including:
20th anniversary of blood donation on 29th December 2025
This was our 20th consecutive year hosting this event, and NZBlood expressed their appreciation by providing additional refreshments and promoting it through their media channels. They also sent a letter of appreciation and a poster to share with the community. NZBlood also informed us that there were 44 donors, of whom 12 were first-time donors.
Pirith chanting
Ven resident monks changed Pirith on New Year’s Eve, blessing the coming year. There was a beautiful candle display welcoming 2026.
Dana
Heeldane was offered to the Venerable Theros at the temple on 1st January, the first Danaya of the year.
Blessings and Dansel
Devotees visited the temple throughout the day for blessings, and there were Roti Dansalas in the morning and evening, as well as a Rice Dansala for lunch.
